Private Investment

1996 Multiple World and National Champion

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are saddened to announce the passing of Private Investment, on September 16, 2002. Although Private was stalled indoors and was fully vaccinated with the initial, first and second boosters for West Nile, he succumbed to the virus after a 4 day battle.

As many of you know, Private Investment’s unique beauty and charisma were rewarded with National and World Championship titles each year he was shown. We bred many outstanding mares to him in 2002 with expectations of reproducing the characteristics that made Private a champion. 2003 will be his last foal crop.

I want to express my appreciation to Char-O-Lot Ranch for breeding and raising such an incredible horse. And thank you to Burt and Carol Huntington for allowing me to work with him.

Though the loss of Private is devastating, we continue to be committed to the growth of our halter program through showing and breeding. Your support and thoughts are appreciated during this tough time.

Sincerely,

   John Larsen

Tribute to Private Investment

The name is known both far and wide,

His halter fame is one of pride.

From weanling on: he set the pace,

All halter judges bestowed first place.

Multiple National and World Champ too

Again and again he brought home the blue.

Only one time he took defeat,

To his Maker he now does meet.

He'll live on through Appaloosa legend,

The best of stallions now in heaven.

He made his mark with so little time,

Forever remembered in our hearts and mind.

His life now ended, greener pastures he'll roam,

Private Investment in heaven--his eternal home.
